Prakruti Van is one of NetZero Planet Foundation's flagship ecological restoration projects, successfully transforming 25 acres of land into a thriving forest ecosystem through the plantation of 8,000 native trees. The project was designed to promote biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, ecological restoration, and sustainable rural development while creating a long-term green asset for future generations.
The project includes a diverse mix of native, medicinal, fruit-bearing, and climate-resilient species such as Neem, Maha Neem, Amla, Baheda, Arjun, Karanja, Chandan, Dalchini, Guava, Jackfruit, Jamun, Kaju Badam, Kadam, Radhachura, Krushnachura, Sheesham, Mitragyna, and other native species that support biodiversity, ecological balance, and long-term environmental sustainability.
Prakruti Van is generating significant environmental benefits by improving air quality, supporting groundwater recharge, reducing soil erosion, enhancing biodiversity, and strengthening climate resilience. The plantation provides habitat for birds, pollinators, and wildlife while contributing to healthier living conditions and greater environmental awareness within rural communities.
The initiative was implemented with active participation from local communities, volunteers, and stakeholders, fostering environmental stewardship, community ownership, and long-term sustainability.
The plantation phase has been successfully completed. Regular maintenance, watering, monitoring, and survival management activities are currently underway to ensure healthy growth and long-term sustainability of the forest.
From barren land to a thriving natural ecosystem, Prakruti Van stands as a model of community-led ecological restoration, demonstrating how native tree plantation can strengthen biodiversity, improve environmental quality, and create a greener, more sustainable future for generations to come.
